Burton L. Tibbetts Passes

Burton L. "Burt" Tibbetts, 92, of Brockton, passed away unexpectedly May 19, 2018. He was the husband of the late Helen A. (Chillingworth) Tibbetts. Burton was a 1944 graduate of Brockton High School and was a lifelong resident of Brockton. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and worked for many years as a draft designer, technical salesman and a livery driver retiring in 2010. He was past Worshipful Master of St. George Lodge and was a 32nd Degree Mason. For over 20 years he volunteered at the Brockton VA Hospital Chapel and was a 75 year member of Christ Congregational Church. He is survived by two daughters, Carol Hamilton and her husband Wayne of South Easton and Beth Tibbetts; one grandson, Keith Vallee; two great-granddaughters, Isabel and Sophia Vallee; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 25, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial in South Easton Cemetery. St. George Lodge will preform a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Shriners Burns Hospital, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
